Nick Headed to Europe

Our nephew Nick definitely deserves an entry for his soccer accomplishments!

For those of you who don’t know, Nick has been playing soccer competitively for many years now. However, this summer he’s taken it to a new level and we are all so proud of him.

This summer Nick has been chosen to participate in several national soccer tournaments all over the country. Some of the highlights include making it to the regional level with ODP-Olympic Development Program where at their last tournament was given the Golden Boot Award (top player of the tournament). He was chosen to play for the national tournament later this fall. At another one of his tournaments he was being scouted by FIVE colleges!

The biggest event of the summer was being invited to play at the AX Soccer Tournament in San Diego at the beginning of the summer where he was one of very few kids from all over the country chosen to play at the European Showcase. To put it simply, this is an event where the top level kids from all over the world play for European coaches and they pick their teams. Last year 12 players from the US went and 7 came back with contracts. This is HUGE for Nick and he has a good chance of coming back a professional player...if not he will have an awesome experience!

Our local paper the Daily Camera did a big article on him if you’d like to check it out

GOOOOOOO NICK!!!!!!
