You Won’t Believe It

As we were writing all these updates, you will never believe what happened. Our basement flooded AGAIN (#3 if you are counting). Not even kidding, sitting right here in front of the computer and water starts sneaking up from the guest room through the hall way. Same damn place, same damn problem- Water in the window well flooded through the window. But how did the water get there??! Sure it rained, but not that much. Is the landscaping so bad that all the water from our neighborhood is channeled to our window well!? No, the good news is that it isn’t that. The bad news is that it was a $3 part in the sprinkler system that failed and was pouring tons of water into the ground right by the window. God only knows how long that was pumping water out. So, in good form, we attacked the basement with professional efficiency. In less than 3 hours we had all the furniture moved (again), all the carpet pulled up in one-piece (again), all the carpet pad removed (again), a chunk of dry-wall removed (again), and sucked up 100’s of gallons of water with shop vacs (again). And now the fans are running full force (AGAIN). Did I mention that we actually own one of those high-power dryer fans cause this happens so often to us? But, to be fair all three floods, while occurring int he same place, happened for different reasons. 1) Mouse ate the water supply line to ice maker upstairs, 2) Torrential rains, 3) Sprinkler System. If number four happens, I am converting the basement into an aquarium cause it will be easier that way. And so, we wait to see what happens.....
