Summer Fun

Summer is a favorite time of year for our family and we do our best to make it fun and exciting for our kids.

This year we decided once again to keep the kids out of most of the summer camps home and have some real FUN!

Swimming was/is a top priority for Caden and Molly this summer. We are bound and determined to get Caden swimming on his own AND...he’s close! He’s been taking semi-private lessons at Boulder Indoor Diving and he loves his lessons. This week he had a new teacher and she asked him to swim to him and...he DID! It was only a few feet but he did it and we are all excited.

Another top priority for Caden this summer was to have a lemonade stand. We make it a point to stop at any lemonade stands we come across and they’re popular in our neighborhood right now so we go to a LOT. We decided to have one to raise money for charity and it was a big success--he raised over $60. Our nephew Nick is raising money to play soccer in Europe so Caden decided to give him $50 and the other $10 will go to “sick kids and kids who don’t have enough to eat.” I have to say I’m very proud of his kind and caring heart!!

The rest of the time we’ve gone to the zoo, swam, did the slip and slide, parks, played with friends and more. We’re all having a good summer...don’t want it to end!
