Caden and Molly Update
At the official start of summer vacation Caden is done with regular preschool and will be in Pre-Kindergarden at the school he’s been at for the past two years. As he told me after his last day of school, “Mom, I’m gonna be in Pre-K now...that’s big”--he’s absolutely right. At 4 1/2 Caden continues to keep us on his toes and is definitely becoming more and more physical. He played soccer this spring and continues with his swimming lessons and loves them both. This summer he really didn’t want to do much in the way of camps but we are signed up for a sports camp in July which will be good and he’s considering going to the summer camps at his preschool.
Caden is really starting to take off with is reading and writing skills. He can write every letter from memory and is starting to write smaller so words will fit on a single line which is fun. He’s also recognizing more and more words that he sees and asking what things say...exciting! He still really enjoys reading books, doing puzzles, playing outside and helping daddy with any and all projects. He is REALLY, REALLY excited for all of our summer trips and activities this summer.
Molly is almost 22 months now and with clothes, shoes and a full diaper occasionally weighs in at 20lbs now. We are very excited about this...once she hits 2 and is 20lbs consistently we can turn her around in her car seat...big stuff!! She did recently have a growth spurt and is now officially out all of her 3-6mo clothes and is in a lot of 12-18mo ones now! She has become quite opinionated about her clothing and pretty much only wants to wear dresses and skirts. She also only will wear the shoes she wants and generally needs a hair bow or pig tails, necklace and purse--she’s ALL GIRL!!
Molly is proving to be just as smart as her brother and is a book worm. She always is carrying books around asking people to read to her and she is TALKING, TALKING, TALKING! She’s putting together 3-4 word sentences & singing. She bosses around her brother, Mom, Dad, Grandma and pretty much anyone around. She is also really interested in counting. She counts everything and can count up to 10 on her own--though somewhat inconsistently. Her favorite things to do right now continues to be gymnastics, playing outside, reading and playing blocks.
Both kids have definitely started to play more and more together which is so fun and cute...that is when they’re being nice to each other. A lot of the time their playing ends in a lot of fighting--someone getting hurt. The instigator varies but I’d say a good 60% of the time its Molly...
The two at play...sooo cute!
