Kendra: Class of 2012

Here we are again at graduation season. This year we see off our third niece/nephew Kendra. She will be attending the University of Colorado next year and we are VERY proud of her...and very, very sad. For those of you who have not enjoyed the services of Kendra’s babysitting, you are truly missing out. For years she has been Caden and then Molly’s babysitter and later the primary babysitter for a lot of Caden’s friends. And she is just phenomenal at it. What makes her so great you ask? Not the obvious stuff. She keeps the kids safe of course, stays in charge and holds them to the rules. Bed-times, nap-times and meals are all conducted with professionalism too. But the real magic of Kendra is she does not just “get through it” while she is working. She brings with her projects, toys, arts and crafts and more imaginative things then us parents ever thought of. Everyone who uses her, raves about it. I don’t think Kendra is quite sure what she will be majoring in right now, but for those of us who have experienced it, we are hoping it is something related to early childhood development or anything kid related. There is a whole world of small people out there that could seriously benefit from Kendra’s natural gift with kids.

Back to the graduation, fun as always, lots of parties and celebrating. We had the ceremony itself, a large picnic with a few other graduating families and friends the following day and a brunch the next day featuring the slide show that Katy and I put together for her. I believe Kendra had many more parties than that and didn’t sleep for 3 days straight even with a serious ear infection and strep throat. The slide show was another success (in my humble opinion) and ran almost 40 minutes (seriously getting out of hand). I would normally try to post it here but it is so big that no-one would ever actually see it. Instead, here are some pictures of her special day.
