Another Lovely Mother’s Day
Mother’s Day is here again. This year we had Katy’s mom in town with us (and my mom in Virginia with Karen). As is becoming a tradition in our household, for mother’s and father’s day, there is a portion reserved for some alone time, usually exercising, and some family time celebrating. Like last year, Katy walked the Title 9.9K race at the Boulder Reservoir with some friends. And like last year, myself and the kids met her there and Caden and Molly finished the race with her. Lots of fun. Afterwards, we picked up some Sushi for lunch (Mommy’s favorite) and enjoyed a lunch at home. Then the real fun started. With Katy’s mom here, we all got together with the other sister’s (and mom’s) and drove out to the middle of absolutely nowhere to do some labyrinth walks with Kay (a very important part of her life). While I will be honest and say this is not exactly how we may have spent the day otherwise, I can say it was pretty fun hanging out with everyone and just not worrying about anything else...how could we, we were in parts of Colorado that still don’t have cell service. The day ended with a great BBQ courtesy of Beth and John. A good, uncomplicated Mother’s Day.
