A Nice and Needed Day

November 25, 20104 photos

As usual we had plans to share Thanksgiving with some of the extended family. We were going to have Jon’s family out this year. But for one reason or another, it didn’t work out. So we had the crazy idea since all obligations on us to entertain were lifted, lets go with that and do nothing! This was a highly unorthodox thing for us to do, especially considering we have so much family right around us. But with Molly not being the easiest baby, Caden adjusting to school, being 3 and having a litter sister, and daddy working a lot, having a nice break with just our little family unit seemed like just the right thing at just the right time.

It isn’t that we don’t enjoy the company of others. We were just over taxed on planning and preparing. 5 days off with nothing more planned than waking up everyday would be a welcomed break. So that is about all we did. Bad weather kept us inside doing whatever made everyone happy. We did do something for Thanksgiving dinner, got us a Turducken from the grocery store. Weird right? But the heck, twas the time to be off kilter. Couple other dressings and we had a nice, quiet little dinner.

Katy still did her annual wake up at 3am and go shopping on Friday, other than that, everything was the delightfully different. There isn’t even that many pictures to show...proving we didn’t do much.

The smallest Thanksgiving gathering in recent memory
