Bye-bye Paci, Hello Bed

Probably not the biggest news of the year, but Caden had two “upgrades” this month in the bedroom. One, he got rid of the pacifier. We thought it would be a big deal with how much he insisted on it at times. But after one visit from the “Paci Fairy” he was perfectly fine to be done with them. So that was it, no more dependency on the pacifier. Caden’s simplicity has spoiled us.

The second was a new bed. Caden had his Firetruck toddler bed for the last year. It seemed fine, he certainly was outgrowing it. But recently he has not been sleeping well and been asking to sleep in mommy’s and daddy’s bed, which he has never done in the past. It occurred to us that maybe he wasn’t comfortable on the crappy toddler mattress he had been sleeping on for 3 years. So we upgraded him to a new full size bed. Way too big of course, but in 5-10 years we will be wondering how we ever thought he was too small for it. And now mommy and daddy can read books to him while laying next to him instead of crouched over on the floor.
