A Trip To The Twin Cities For Jon’s Marathon

Its been far too long since Katy visited Kevin and his family at home--so long in fact that Jon hadn’t even made the trip out there! So when Jon decided to train for a Marathon we decided on the Twin Cities one so we could combine our vacations. We had a great time touring around the area and visiting with the Kinneavy-Lee’s on their turf. Going to a cello recital, visiting the boys school, going apple picking and visiting some glacial potholes were just a few of the highlights of our trip...not to mention the marathon! We had perfect fall weather for the beginning of the trip but once race day hit that all changed. The first two hours of the race was a TOTAL downpour. There was so much rain that Jon was literally running up/through rivers in the streets. Nonetheless Jon braved the rain, kept running and did an amazing job!!! He ran all 26.2 miles in just 4 hours and 15 minutes! I was impressed that he barely even looked tired...even after the race! You would have never known he just ran a marathon other then the fact that he was limping a little, ate three cheeseburgers afterwards and was secretly wearing his finishing medal all day long! Great Job Jon!!! We’re all impressed!!!
