Badly Needed Vacation

Mayan Riviera

May 200976 photos

We have been traveling this way and that for the last year or so visiting family and friends. And that is all good. Traveling is always fun. But it was time for a real get-away from it all. This includes, family, work, and especially home. Not that home isn’t lovely, but it has been a constant source of stress and we (specifically Jon) have been unable to relax when there is so much to do. So we got out of town, out of state, out of country and headed to the Gulf Coast of Mexico, swine flu be damned. Our resort was top notch. The Barcelo Mayan Palace, great service, great food, impeccably clean and well maintained. And a pool that rivals any lake here in CO. I kid you not, this pool was almost an acre in size, you could not see one end from the other. It also had a huge water park for Caden who proved himself quite the daredevil. No slide was too big or too fast for the little man. We ate, we swam, we chilled in the warm Caribbean Sea, it was such a needed break. And for an added bonus, we brought our niece Dana with us to look after Caden when we chose not too...which I won’t deny, was more than a few times.

And like all Chapman vacations this past year, it ended with our basement flooded. And that is all I am going to say about that.
