Camping in Aspen

Since last year we had such a great camping experience--ha ha, we decided to try it again this year and go someplace new and different to camp--Aspen. We took our niece Kendra for her birthday present and she brought along her little sister Shae (this was her first camping trip.) We camped for three nights at Difficult Campground right at the base of Independence Pass, just outside of Aspen. It was a wonderful campground with fantastic views, running water and very private and large sites. Despite the clear forecast it rained and hailed a lot...which was a bummer. But in-between the storms it was lovely and warm and we all had a great time. We went on a few hikes, cooked some new recipes over the fire and mostly chased Caden around. This was Caden’s second camping trip and this one went MUCH better, but he still needs to get used to it a bit. Camping helped increase Caden’s vocabulary quite a bit...he learned how to say Tent, backpack & hike!
