As many know, our dog Lucia has been an adventure for the last 2 1/2 years. From a funny looking goofy puppy to a medical dilemma, she has kept us on our toes. Last night, on Christmas, Lucia took her final breath and passed away peacefully in her sleep. She had been diagnosed with kidney failure several months ago and, at the time, was given 2 days to live, a week tops. Leave it to Lucia to go for a total of 4 months without a vital organ. There is a lot of funny times to look back on; the great tail saga (click for Part 1 and Part 2), or her back problems resulting in several thousands of dollars of tests. Then there is the good stuff, she loved every person and dog (mostly dog) that came in contact with her. She was patient and gentle with Caden and still loved a good wrestle with dad. A frisbee and a pat on the head got her through the days with her tail wagging.

Lucia wasn’t born into a healthy body, she had many ailments through the years that needed constant attention. But that never her stopped her from being the most fun loving and enjoyable dog we ever had. Here are some pictures of her short, yet intense, life. We will miss you pup.
