House Insulation

ClimateSmart Part 1

As part as our personal effort to become more energy efficient, we took part in the Boulder County ClimateSmart initiative. This allows loans to be taken for energy efficient home improvements and repaid via property taxes. This means the loan is tax deductible AND goes with the house and not us should we move. This makes solar projects (next week!) and other large undertakings more feasible. The first project we did was insulating the walls and cathedral ceiling of our house. We had earlier put in more insulation in our attic which made a noticeable difference. This was no different. Despite being a very messy and intrusive undertaking, the house now actually has insulation in the walls and feels warmer already!
