Trip to South Dakota

Believe it or not we have been wanting to do a trip to South Dakota for several years now. Its only a 6 hour drive from home and there is tons to do and one of Katy’s best friends lives up there with her family. This summer we did it and it was one of the best family vacations we’ve ever had. It was the perfect mixture of relaxation, sight seeing, adventure & reconnecting with close friends.

We saw lots of sights including Mount Rushmore, Reptile Gardens, Bear Country USA, a day trip to Badlands National Park & spent a couple days camping at Sheridan Lake outside of Rapid City. We spent a couple of nights staying in a hotel that had a water park in it which blew the kids mind and drove the parents to drink. The next couple of nights we stayed with Joann & Dane & Judee at their home the four kiddos had soooooooo much fun together and it made it very easy for the adults all to have fun too! Our week long stay went far too fast and everyone was sad it was over. The kids are already asking to go back and now compare South Dakota to Disney Cruises in their magnitude of fun. Pictures here
