Professor Caden
We had the first inclination that Caden’s eyes were not quite up to par over a year ago. After a eye test at his pediatrician, we noted he struggled a bit with the smaller symbols. We were told to watch and wait. After starting Kindergarten this year, it became more apparent that something was amiss. Caden would complain about the small letters in the weekly readers, and having trouble identifying things at school. So we took him to the optometrist for an exam. Sure enough, he needed them for far-sidedness. The doctor explained that it is takes kids eyes some time to come into total focus, Caden’s was just taking longer than usual. So in attempt to make this a temporary condition, his glasses were prescribed at half the full amount required in-order to make his brain work through this. Looking through his glasses, even with half the Rx, wow, he sure needed these.
All this of course caused mommy and daddy to get a bit worried about how he would feel about this, his interactions at school, his ability to care for $400 glasses. All for not really. He loved getting them, LOVED being able to see with them, his classmates were all kind, and he loves taking care of them. So far so good.
I am still not use to seeing him in them, but he wears them like a pro and looks too many years older for my liking. And obviously, he looks like a genius.
I guess with my eyes, Caden getting classes was inevitable
