Molly is a Big Girl!
So maybe getting out of the crib into a real bed is a big deal with any kid. But you must understand that with Molly, it is a much bigger deal. Us deciding to move Molly from the safe, predictable, wonderful confines of her crib to a unrestrained, invitation to disaster was not easy. The thinking was, since Molly demands independence, that giving her some would lead to more grateful and appreciated behavior (this is a similar to the saying that if we give her enough rope, she will us it to tie us up, then slaughter a goat, paint herself in blood and go primal on us).
The last time we tried this, she meticulously deconstructed her room every night...sometimes with poop. This time, she actually did very well. It wasn’t without its moments. She doesn’t like staying in her room, but no matter what, she seems to end up back in her bed asleep. Aside from one night when she told us she would not be sleeping in her bed and indeed she didn’t. We found her asleep on a garbage bag full of clothes. We are at this moment dealing with the crisis of night potty training. She is potty trained, but bed-time is a problem. We have to allow her the freedom to get up and go and trust she will go back. Last night she got up, gathered up a few things from our room, removed some things from her room, removed her diaper (3 times), removed her clothes, wet her bed 3 times, and made it very clear who the hierarchy is in this household.
Either way, she is a big girl now. Grew a whole inch in the last month. Sniff.....
This is Molly...she is kind of a big deal
