Kay and Gerry’s 50th Anniversary
While my Mom and Dad were here celebrating graduations & birthdays it was also (well almost) their 50th anniversary! So, being the good kids that we are we decided to throw them a little surprise bash!
Truth be told, it was a busy time for all of us so the party had to be put together at the last minute but it turned out beautifully! Mom and Dad were surprised and a wonderful time was had by all!
There were beautiful decorations--gold 50‘s & gold balloons everywhere, John playing the sax, candles, white lights and we all took a dinner course to make for them. With each course a rotating group of 6 people got to sit with them and enjoy the meal while the others served, prepped and cleaned up.
As our gift to them, each of their children took a ‘gift’ or value that they have given us through the years and told them about it. I think this was just about the best part. Parents don’t often get to hear how much they’ve passed onto their children and our parents did a great job so it was important to tell them.
--Kevin talked about the gift of travel via skype
--Anne the gift of supporting each other in activities and interests
--Beth the gift of family
--Kristen the gift of dressing up and laughter
--Sarah the gift of having fun on a low budget
--Katy the gift of faith
It really was a wonderful night--everyone had a great time! There were a lot of photos taken so to see them click here
Cheers to 50 Year’s of Marriage!
