Six Weeks & Smiling & Sleeping

September 24, 20108 photos

Things have definitely improved around our house in the past two weeks...mostly thanks to Molly’s new found sleep ‘habits’. We’re proud to report that Molly has started to consistently sleep in 5-6 hour stretches at night which is FANTASTIC. She’s definitely come a long way from the 15 minute stretches that we started with!

Molly has also started to smile quite a bit which is so cute! She has lots of good activity time during the day where she kicks, plays and smiles and even is starting to make more cooing-like noises. I’m sure that full out cooing is right around the corner.

We continue to battle the Colic/acid reflux but it seems to be stabilizing at least which is good. The cranky days continue to be sporadic, but we have found that pretty much every night from 8-10 is her worst stretch so at least its predictable. I have been continuing to experiment with my diet and it seems that she is VERY sensitive to dairy and possibly wheat but we haven’t fully confirmed that one yet--we’ll keep trying. Molly still isn’t able to sleep in a normal crib...she sleeps in this special foam sleigh called the “Nap Nanny” where she’s mostly upright...we’re working on getting her to sleep flat too. Hopefully we’ll have a fully comfortable baby soon! We’re optimistic.

Nonetheless we’re working on getting to a normal schedule and are even getting out of the house a bit. Mommy adn the kids even made it to the zoo recently...not on our own (with 5 helpers!) but we still made it!
