Caden Turns 2

November 6, 200917 photos

Caden’s second birthday is a big deal to us...especially for Mommy. Not only does it mean our baby has grown into a fantastic little boy, but it also means we have successfully made it through two years of being parents AND we get to throw another party. Yeah!

Caden has become very interested in birthdays recently. He says Happy Birthday! all the time, sings the song (its the only song he sings with actual words) and LOVES blowing out candles. So he was excited. He practiced saying he was two and shows how old he is by putting up one finger on both hands. He was READY!

The plan was that we would have a fun filled Caden-Day on his actual birthday and then two days later have his actual party. We had about 50 people in all RSVP to come so it was going to be lots of fun with balloons, nerf games, lots of kids and an Elmo cake that mommy has been practicing making.

As it turned out the day before Caden’s birthday Mommy got sick and on the actual day got diagnosed with the H1N1 (swine) flu. YUCK! So the party had to be postponed (date still TBD). Nonetheless though Caden had a great birthday. The day started out by transforming his crib into a “Big Boy Bed”. Basically the front railings got taken off and we put up a smaller guard that still allows him to get in and out of bed on his own. HE LOVES HIS BIG BOY BED!!! He spends lots of time every day getting in and out of bed and has had no trouble sleeping in it. The day continued with lots of birthday well wishers both via phone and in person to wish him happy birthday, a birthday haircut with daddy, lots of fun presents and he got to blow out his candles several times at each and every meal which was super fun. In the evening we had a mini party with pizza (his favorite) and ice cream cake. It was a good day! And since his party got postponed his birthday is continuing on for a long time which is fun for everyone!
