Garden 2009

Tis the season for gardening! It really is something we look forward to every year. Okay, so maybe we really just enjoy the “having the garden” part of it...not so much getting it started. Colorado is not an ideal place for backyard gardens. Every year it has to be pretty much started from scratch. But this year, we were ahead of the game. We got our early spring seeds planted in, you guessed it, early spring (almost 2 months earlier than last year!). This gave us spinach, lettuce, beats, and radishes by early May. And they are producing at a pace we are having a hard time keeping up with.

Shae has become our biggest helper, she comes over at least once a week to weed, plant, till, and harvest whatever we have. She is a huge help. This year she planted her own garden box with corn! Can’t wait to have that crop.

We will update from time to time on how our garden grows, but it is off to a great start!
