38 Weeks

38 weeks and counting....and its been a long, Long LONG weekend! At last week’s Dr’s appointment we found out that I was 50% effaced and 1 cm dilated...all a good sign. An even better sign (we thought) started Thursday night when I started getting contractions...those continued through Friday so I wrapped up work in hopes that I’d have a baby this weekend. No such luck. The contraction (often 10 minutes apart), pressure and cramping has continued but not regularly enough to necessarily mean anything except a lot of discomfort and anxiety for Jon and I. We’re still hoping this all means that something will happen soon but are trying to come to terms with the fact that it still could be two-three weeks away. Amazing you can wait 38 weeks for something and the last few days/weeks seem to take FOREVER.
