The Big European Trip
There are literally thousands of pictures to look at via the links below, but let me give the overview of this big trip!
Katy turned 40 this year! And Katy is a big royal family fan for those of you who didn’t know that (and if you didn’t know that, you should stop calling Katy a friend). AND it turns out there was a royal wedding on the books for May! AND AND AND, this is the last year we thought we could skip the last week of school without the kids missing anything.
So we went for it. Little planning, couple of good deals, plenty of impulsive decisions and we had a European trip planned.
We flew out May 17th to London, arriving May 18th for a May 19th royal wedding. Excellent trip there, long lines at Heathrow and a great day in Windsor for the parade. But that was just the beginning of the trip.
Lots of London time, Harry Potter time and friend visits! Then over to Belgium. This was a few day trip just to see what was what. Big mistake, Belgium was amazing and we needed to spend many more days there. The best of it was the farm we stayed at in Bruges (B&B). It was incredible with animals for the kids (and Katy) to play with, amazing food for all, beautiful scenery and incredible hosts. Must return.
After the all too short visit to Belgium, we shot over to France for Champagne, Domains, and Paris. It was also incredible. But, like the last time we were there (and didn’t learn), Paris is a hard place to finish a 16 day trip!
