California I Missed You
We owe this whole trip to our good friends Anthony and Darin for having a wedding in lovely California. Of course the wedding part in beautiful wine country was enough to make the trip a total blast. Seeing my college friends, having some good food and drinks with wonderful people would have been enough to fly to California for. But...
...why stop there!
We flew into LA and did some proper SoCal fun with some time on Santa Monica Pier, a walk on the Hollywood walk of fame (which, point of fact, is an awful place) and a wonderful visit with Cousin Myra. We spent a lovely day and night at Myra’s house (and pool), drove her new Model S and dined real fancy like.
That was followed by time back at home in Goleta...the beach, the old (no longer in the family) home, Woody’s BBQ and family and friends.
Next-up SLO, Morro Bay, and Montana de Oro! Did two days in Morro Bay with offshoots to Cal Poly, Montana de Oro and as far north as Highway 1 would let us go (it is closed after Ragged Point). That followed up by some Cambria and Hwy 46 wineries, then...
Monterey Bay! Stayed a great little cottage nearby and enjoyed the town as always...and of course the Aquarium.
Trip ended at our destination in Sonoma with a spectacular wedding, wine, amazing views, wineries, friends, wine pools, it goes on. It was fun...it was a lot, but damn.
California was every bit as pretty as it always is
