Done with Pre-School and 2nd Grade

School is out and we are starting our new habit of kicking summer off immediately. Caden finished off 2nd grade and Molly went through her first Graduation from pre-school. We picked them up from their respective classes and hit the road for Glenwood Springs! Close enough to not require lots of planning or packing, but far enough away to be new and interesting.

Of course we had been through Glenwood Springs before, but never stopped to enjoy it. And it was quite a joy. We spent a day, at the caves on-top of the mountains above the city. Naturally, there was a small amusement park built up there too (how else do you attract people to caves?). And it was quite fun...mostly because of the alpine roller coaster (biggest one in the states apparently). The caves were great too, incredible deep and full of interesting stalactites and stalagmites. We also nearly got struck by lightening before going in...

The next day we enjoyed the famous Glenwood Hot Springs, no, not the original ones. There are brand new ones built right next to the Colorado River...amazing. The whole trip was amazing and we are excited about what the next last day of school trip will be!
