Hitting the Slopes

December 14, 20149 photos

We went all in several months ago and bought the Epic (local) Ski Pass for the family. We bought lots of new gear and committed ourselves to getting ourselves into the skiing habit. Caden has hit the slopes a few times in the past couple of years with great success and we hoped the same for Molly.

Sunday morning on the way to Keystone (with the snow falling) we dealt with Molly complaining about not wanting to do this. We parked and dressed her in the gear and she complained about being uncomfortable. We got on the slopes and she was upset the entire time. THEN, we had lunch, a nap, and then hit the slopes again and she LOVED it. Did the magic carpet umpteen times and was turning, stopping and wedging all on her own. Total win and she is pumped about Saturday in Vail.

Caden of course was a champ. His boots were not a good fit, but he tackled some big runs (~4 miles) with big success and began having really nice turns and is in control on his ski’s which makes Mommy oh so proud!

So we are looking forward to a great season which we hope will lead to a life long winter tradition.

On the River Run Gondola for the first run of the season (and for Molly, her life)
