Madison Norma Dias

Some very exciting news for all of us Chapman’s: Karen and Mark welcomed their first child into the world, Maddie as I believe she will hence forth be called. She is my (Jon’s) first niece that actually has a chance of looking a little bit like me (thought so far its not looking good).

Of course we have all been waiting for this day anxiously, and we are all suffering GREATLY that this little sweetheart is 2,000 miles away from us. We knew this would be the case, we have our trip booked for Thanksgiving , but it really sucks not being there now. Plan is when we pull up to the Dias’ house, we are all going to fight in the front yard to see who gets to hold her first. Daddy should win since I got blood in this game, but mommy is pretty mean (violent even) when it comes to babies. Caden and Molly also have a strong case...they are no longer the youngest in the crew and have lots of mentoring to do.

No matter. Awesome news. Karen got through the birth with flying colors and along with Mark are already stellar parents. I know they are not feeling that right now, as they are over tired and overwhelmed, but Karen and Mark you guys are amazing and Maddie is going to be incredible.
