Pre-K Continuation
Dear Caden,
Three years ago your mom and dad made one of the first big steps as parents in helping you make your first step into school. It did not go to well if you recall (here is a reminder). It was a rough start, but we all stayed brave, especially you. It did not take long for you to realize that this school, Jefferson Street Preschool, would be a very special place for you.
You made fast friends with your teachers and quickly taught them how special of a boy you are. Bright, charismatic, imaginative, kind, giving and funny. That would be what defined you from early on. The days quickly came where you came home excited about all the stuff you did and were eager to tell us what you learned. And the art...oh my the projects and the art work you created and brought home to us and shared with your family and friends. The Louvre doesn’t have the wall space. But each piece of work showed us how deep your imagination ran and how much even a 3-5 year old could focus when he wanted to.
Then there were your friends. At first we were a little worried since you seemed so shy around kids your age (you were so used to your older cousins), but then your social side blossomed. Yeah at first all your friends were the girls (or more specifically, all the girls were friends with you), but then you started playing with the boys (Sam, Will and Wes). They helped you grow in the way boys should grow (fights, dirt, and pain), and you helped them learn about sharing, being kind and responsibility.
This past year as Mommy and Daddy started to get anxious about you moving on to Kindergarten you were there to remind us in many ways that you were ready for it. Intellectually ahead of the game, social skills to adapt with the good and the bad, and the heart to make those around you, love you. We know you are sad about leaving Jefferson Street and your teachers behind, and we know that Kindergarten will be scary at first with so many more kids and so much more responsibility; but trust us when we say that you are ready...at least more than we are ready to see you grow up.
We are so proud of you Caden. You have taught us so much and you remind us everyday how lucky we are to have a boy like you to keep us young, keep us wondering and keep us on our toes. We are excited to have your back as you make waves in the years of school ahead and are looking forward to many more graduations...but please take your time.
Love Mom and Dad
P.S. Here are some pictures of your Special Day
P.P.S. Here is a video of your day that will play a part in every future graduation followed by some kind words from your teachers
Can you believe this is our Caden....
