After the Big-D, more fun in the CA Sun!
So, after a truly epic experience at Disneyland with the kids, we continued the fun up the coast to visit with family and friends and spend some quality time on the beach with the kids (an absolute must for Caden). We rented a car the morning after our last day at the park and (barely) squeezed all our crap into in for a the ride up to Goleta to stay with Grandpa David. On the way, we made a very special stop to visit with Katy’s Aunt Pat and Uncle Griff who live in a beautiful house in the hills above Sherman Oaks. The kids were spectacular visitors making sure to be polite and really interacting with our hosts without us pushing them. The visit was too short, but I think it meant a lot to Pat and Griff and was important for our kids as well.
Back in the car, heading up north. So really, the drive from Anaheim to Goleta should only take a few hours with typical LA traffic. Somehow it took us near 8 hours. But it was worth it. We also made a stop at my friend Lisa’s hours in Camarillo. Another short but fun visit. Made it to Grandpa David’s house late, but happy. The following days were lots of fun. Beach, family, friends, parties and easter egg hunts. Lots of pictures here to see how the second half was (click here). The flight home was about as much a pain in the rear as the flight out with the previously shall not be mentioned airline. Late flight, a connection and some pretty small planes. The kids were spectacular though and we made it home intact. A truly epic trip that we can’t wait to do again!
It really was sunnier than this, but it is such a nice picture from the Santa Barbara Zoo!
