Katy to Savannah

This trip has been a LONG time in coming. When our niece Dana decided she was going to go to SCAD--Savannah College of Art and Design last year there was talk of a “girls trip” out to visit her. I decided this was something I really wanted to do and made that my “goal” to be able to do it. Up to this point I had only been away from my kids for six nights total--over four years and NONE of these times had I actually gotten on a plane and left them. It was HARD for me to do and I nearly chickened out on many occasions but I did it and it was great! This also provided Jon with the opportunity to be Mr. Mom which was also good for everyone (it was fun, but by far one of the hardest 5 days of Jon’s life...).

The girls trip turned into a trip with my sister Beth and my parents and we had a great time. We were in Savannah for five days, saw the sights, took Dana and her friend Josh out to some much needed dinners, relaxed, shopped and navigated the streets of Savannah which is harder than I’d imagined. Yes, I did miss the kids and Jon a lot but I needed the time away and enjoyed it. Enjoy the pics!
