Molly 5 Months - Caden Still 3
It seems like we should be able to remember everything that happen with Caden when he was a baby. Things like when he rolled over, when he sat up, when he laughed for the first time, etc.. But it might as well have been 50 years ago for as much as we remember about it. We notice this because all the new things Molly does catches us by surprise. This month especially has given us lots of firsts for our little girl. The most important thing is she has calmed down, and started enjoying things more. She FINALLY enjoys riding in the car (thankyouthankyouthankyouthankyou), she smiles and laughs at everything and she enjoys riding in the stroller. All things we took for granted when Caden was a baby.
Onto other accomplishments, she is rolling over and over...all over, any direction. And she scoots, reaches and LOVES to play with anything she gets her hand on. Also, since we flat out failed at giving her a bottle, we were hopeful that she might take to cereal better. SHE DID! Loves the stuff, rice, barley, or oatmeal. She eats it all up. Still figuring out how to eat and swallow, but she seems motivated to figure it out. The sippy cup is another revelation. She will not touch a bottle no matter how hungry she is, but she will happily drink from a sippy cup and/or a a regular cup. She seems partial to wine glasses...don’t tell anyone. Last, she is at that mommy/stranger anxiety stage. Needs her mommy in her field of view at all times and is not to fond of new people handling her. All good, this seems to be the only normal thing she has done at a normal time. Also had to experience a sick baby this month. Good news is that she is not an unhappy sick baby, just like Caden.
And Caden. He is awesome. He and Molly are bonding and enjoying each others company. Cannot wait until we can leave them in a room together and leave and not worry about them...not that we would EVER leave our kids alone...no sir.
Sure she looks upset, but at 5months, she is really, finally, a happy baby
