Spirit Party 2010
The holidays have officially begun around here now that we’ve had the Spirit Party! As always it was crazy and hectic getting ready for it--but it was very worth it.
This was the first year that Caden really knew what was going on and he was EXCITED. He woke up in the morning and after a round of Jingle Bells before Mommy came to get him the first words out of his mouth were “Is it time to go to the Spirit Party now?” After hearing it wasn’t time he said “Well lets make my ornaments and get ready.” Caden (and Mommy & Daddy) really wanted Caden to win Spirit King so they thought having Caden make ornaments for everyone might help & it DID! Caden spent most of the day making an ornament with a picture of him and Molly in it for EVERYONE at the party--that’s 30 ornaments! They were very cute & well received!
Despite having no nap (too excited) Caden was cheerful and very spirited the entire night. He passed out his ornaments and wished everyone “Merry Christmas,” did his own talent show--singing Jingle Bells and playing the guitar, did video talent show with the family “Suzy Snowflake Revisited” and then did bonus talent acts between everyone else's--he even did impromptu performances during some of the other acts too. Who knew...Mom and Dad were sure he’d have stage fright but boy were we wrong!
It was a VERY fun night. Everyone was very spirited. Kendra won most festive dress and was wearing a lovely Christmas vest, glasses, Winnie the Pooh socks, and looked like a classic grandma! John and Paul won most talented with their 70’s pimp song about all the ladies. And of course Caden took the top honors as Spirit King. The first time in 21 years that someone so young took the crown. He was elated-- almost as much as his parents.
