Caden at 2 1/2 & 1 month
Its been awhile since we’ve done an update on just Caden’s progress and boy has he changed a lot recently. He is increasingly more and more of a preschooler rather than a toddler it seems which is great and sad all at the same time for Mommy and Daddy.
Caden now speaks in full sentences most of the time and DOESN’T EVER STOP TALKING--literally. Just like his Mom he loves to talk and loves to talk on the phone. Every morning he wakes up and calls Daddy at the office first thing and often calls his grandma, aunts or cousins after that. With every call there is a full conversation about something wether it be pancakes, Zoe (our dog) or where or what the other person is doing.
As expected Caden is becoming more and more physical and LOVES to climb. He climbs and jumps from everything--usually scaring Mommy in the process. One of the most notable climbs recently was when he climbed upstairs on the outside of the staircase. SCARY!
Currently Caden is in Gymnastics and swimming lessons. He LOVES gymnastics the swimming lessons not so much. At gymnastics he does everything from the balance beam to the rings. The rings and bars are his favorite. He is surprisingly strong and can almost do a pike while hanging from the rings--amazing! The gymnastics class is very challenging for 7 month pregnant Mommy to help with so we are very thankful that cousin Shae likes going with us!!! Caden loves swimming and we go often but he isn’t a fan of the structured swim lessons. We can’t tell if they’re just not challenging enough for him or if he just would prefer to swim on his own...either way, thank goodness its only a 4 week session.
Caden loves being outside and this summer he is enjoying spending most of his time out in the yard playing, riding his scooter or helping in the garden. He also loves being a helper and with all of the recent house projects he is a big helper for Daddy. Usually when they start working on a project he says “Hang on, I got go get my tools”--such a little boy! He also really enjoys playing play doh, games, singing, painting and going any and everywhere.
Of course with baby sister Molly coming in just a few weeks working on becoming a big brother is a big part of his life right now. Caden is very excited for the arrival of little sister. He talks to her in my belly almost every day and has become a shop-a-holic for her. Every time we go shopping he wants to buy something for her. So far he’s bought some clothes, jammies and a toy for her--very sweet.
