Colorado Winefest

September 26, 20096 photos

Katy and I enjoyed a fantastic weekend get away to Grand Junction Colorado this weekend. Not only was it an occasion to speak of because of the bike tours, wine tasting, lounging in the sun, and enjoying good company. But also because this was the longest we have been away from Caden yet (well, longest Katy has been away at least). A whole long big weekend of just us. It was pretty terrific. We left Caden with Anne, Dana & Curtis to care after him. Of course they over achieved and Caden could really have cared less if we ever came back. Thank You sooooo much!

Anyway, the trip was great. We drove 4 hours to the west end of the state for the annual wine festival. What’s that you say? Colorado makes wine? Beer, for sure, but wine? Yes, in-fact that make some lovely wine. We met up with our friends Jamie and Robbie and took an early morning bike tour (25 miles) through the vineyards. Ended up at the festival were we enjoyed much to much wine in the warm sun laying on the green grass with good food.
